Dive Destinations - Nusa Tengarra - Indonesia
|
Embark on a virtual expedition
to the Nusa Tengarra region of Indonesia.
|
The entire Nusa Tengarra region includes more than 500 islands -- beginning just
east of Bali and stretching almost 1300 kilometers to Timor in the east.
This region of Indonesia lies just east of the Wallace Line,
an imaginary line marking a transition from flora and fauna typical of
the Oriental to the Australian.
We'll depart from Benoa Harbor on Bali and journey past the principle islands
of Lombok, Sumbawa, Komodo and Flores. Along the way, we will witness some
awesome sights, both above and below water. The scenery, wildlife and marine life of
this region are some of the most beautiful and diverse found anywhere in the world.
During our journey, we'll be traveling aboard a traditional, Pinisi-rigged, bugis schooner operated by
Kararu Dive Voyages
( www.kararu.com).
Our virtual expedition begins with several maps that provide an orientation to the region.
Another map will outline our travels through the islands. We have also included more than two
dozen photos with descriptions and sound. You'll even find links to Quicktime
video clips of exotic creatures like the legendary Komodo Dragon and a variety of
Nusa Tengarra marine life.

The first part of the expedition should be open in a separate window ready for you
to begin your trip. Bon Voyage!
