Article Summary:
Color Variation in the Queensland Yellowtail Angelfish
In 1990, noted Australian fish expert Rudie Kuiter, published an article describing
Chaetodontoplus meridithi, the Queensland yellowtail angelfish. This species
was once called C. personifer but in this paper Kuiter suggests that
C. meridithi and C. personifer are two distinct species that can be separated
on the basis of the coloration and the length and shape of the caudal fin.
In this CoralRealm feature
article we outline the many color variations of this species.
