My friend recommended this site. I am very glad he did. I am very happy with the wealth of information on this site. Thanks for creating and maintaining it.

Ron S. - Atlantic Beach, FL

CoralRealm is providing valuable scientific marine information in combination with diving related topics, such as destinations, image and video libraries. I will recommend this great site to my friends.

Ahmet O. - Togar, Erlangen Germany

I only joined today. I am very impressed with what I have seen so far!

Tim J. - Llanelli, Wales UK

love your site- it balances scientific info and user-friendly high-interest info - It's a great research tool (I'm a fourth grade teacher)- Thanks for the great work!

www.coralrealm.com is an absolute must for all divers. It's like an on-line playground for scuba enthusiasts. You can research the fish you've seen, find out everything about sharks, enter your personal preferences to find suitable destinations, participate in discussions groups on marine life and reef ecology, and even create postcards with your own photography! The site is beautifully designed and does not accept any advertising, so visiting it is almost as relaxing as diving! Coralrealm.com is definitely worth howling about. I've bookmarked it, and plan to go back and roll around in it quite often. And where else can you get a t-shirt that says "We Love Big Smelly Fish"?

I am a student/amateur ichthyologist at the University of Hawaii. Your site is amazing, I have been dreaming of a site of this calibur for years.

I stumbled on the Coral Realm Site, featuring virtual dives, articles... well, you know! I subscribed immediately and now I'm in. I found the Ambon scorpionfish and have been able to identify more fish species (not identified before).

I am amazed by everything I read and see on your site, and very pleased with my brand new membership!

Harry H- Groningen, Netherlands

Hello,I would just like to tell you I think your site is as great as any book I have ever read about marine life. I can find most species I`m looking for on your site and more (yesterday, shortly after signing up,I discovered two wobbegong species I`d never heard about before!).

Johannes E, Sweden

CoralRealm is a very nice website...educational.
Considering all the info packed into this one site, it's worth every ¢¢¢. I don't work for CoralRealm nor do I have any $ interest in it. The only interest that I have is that I would like to see it thrive.
I'm a full dues paying member.

There is an overabundance of dive information on the Web these days, some reliable, some nothing more than advertisements masquerading as fact. We really appreciate the wealth of trustworthy information CoralRealm provides in a user friendly fashion. In the past we have paid for subscriptions to dive newsletters like In Depth and Undercurrents. Now we subscribe to the CoralRealm web site as an additional source of unbiased dive information.

As both a professional aquarist and an avid diver, I found coralrealm.com to be extremely helpful. as an aquarist i have become much more interested in the natural habitat of the fish i keep. with the huge database of fish, I can look up each fish I would like to keep and see how they live on the reef. by trying to duplicate their natural habitat, many fish become easier to keep and more interesting to watch as they interact with surroundings they are used to. as a diver seeking the next great place to visit, the travel logs have been helpful as I decide where the next trip will be. coralrealm.com has become an important part of my research materials.

As a recent member of your organization , I am pleased to say, that the content and layout of the website is superb! Keep at it.

I happened across your site as I was doing research for an assignment for one of my college courses. I'm having a ball as a member of this website - well done! There's still 18" of snow outside and here I am exploring the reefs off of the Florida Keys - I love it!

Joani M. - Waupaca, WI

Great site, folks! Worth the $ to me, by far. I just spent an hour surfing and thought it was like 10 minutes. Almost too much information!

Larry Q. - Rochester, MN

This kind of centralized resource has been badly needed for some time. I like your vision and site composition a lot. Is there a way that I can contribute?

James C. - Austin TX

CoralRealm is the first Internet site where I can find information on dive sites, their inhabitants and natural history in one place, have everything available by searches, and exchange information with others! As one who has been diving 43 years and is an inveterate traveler and u/w naturalist, CoralRealm is an invaluable site for meeting my interests.

I am thoroughly impressed with the high quality of the information and photographs- CoralRealm is obviously a labor of love- but informed, knowledgeable love. I highly recommend CoralRealm to all who love the underwater world, who maintain an active interest in and want to expand their knowledge of what inhabits 70% of our planet.

Jose K. - Carmichael, CA

I think this website is refreshingly easier to scan than reading an advertising laden dive magazine. I am so tired of subsidizing magazines that print 75% page space with ads, and the remainder with fluff articles.

I also like to think we're not wasting paper with supporting this e-zine, environmentally conscience is a good thing. Way to go We Love Big Smelly Fish!

Jan B. - Albuquerque, NM

We checked out the coralrealm site about an hour & a half ago and we have become members already! Our research person has been on it ever since.

Garry G. - Ojai, CA

I'm inpressed! And it takes a lot to impress me! This will be lots of fun as well as an educational endeavor. I know where I'll be spending a lot of my spare time.

Donna M. - Lincoln, NE

What an absolutely fantastic site! As a marine ecology major I can honestly state that this is a wonderful web site! I do wish there were more quality sites on the World Wide Web like this one. Keep up the great work.

Your CoralRealm website is absolutely fantastic! I look at a LOT of websites, and it is brilliant! The concept is super, but the site design and functionality is also exceptional. Congratulations on a super job.

Martin S. - Grand Cayman

I spent a very pleasant New Year's Day browsing your website. Read all the trip reports, and started the encyclopedia and my life list. I enjoy the site very much.

Don't surf the web - DIVE it!

WHAT IS IT?
A web site dedicated to marine life.

WHY LOG ON?
Because this web site is fantastic!
It has got to be the best marine life web site on the Internet -
it has more than 1,000 photographs of fish species, vast encyclopedias with excellent search engines, features, excellent Quicktime video clips and no irritating banner ads. Contributors include photographer Roger Steene, National Geographic writer Fred Bavendam, and travel guide writer and underwater photographer Bob Halstead.

There's also a dive destination planner where you can rank elements relating to a dive holiday. Once the data has been analyzed, you're given a list of possible destinations, with details of which aspects of your wish list are available and which aren't. Handy, eh?

There is a downside - to fully access the site for one year you have to shell out US$29.95. But the revenue is reinvested in the sites, and if you're into marine life, it really is worth it. Schools are offered special discount packages.

ANY UNMISSABLE BITS?
The diver personality test is good for a laugh. You spend about 15 minutes answering all sorts of complex psychoanalytical questions, and are then told what type of diver you are. My favorite question was: "What are you most likely to do between dives? 1 Eat, relax with your fellow divers. 2 Change into a 'tan thru' swimsuit and lie in the sun. 3 Log what marine life you observed on your last dive." Thankfully, each profile is insulting and complimentary in equal portions, so egos should still be intact at the end.
